WaterTower Theatre will Produce a Special Limited-Run of Stephen Schwartz’s GODSPELL

Addison (TX) – WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director, Shane Peterman, today announced the Company will produce a special limited-engagement run of Stephen Schwartz’s beloved musical, Godspell. Inspired by parables taken from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, Godspell offers a fun, modern take on classic stories mixed with a vibrant score of pop, folk, and gospel music that brings these iconic stories to life for audiences of all ages. This production, the first to be selected by Peterman, will replace the previously scheduled Origin Story.

Godspell will run from July 18-28, 2019 on the Terry Martin Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The production will be led by Director Aaron Brown and Music Director Adam C. Wright.

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man," and "By My Side."

“I couldn’t be more excited to present Stephen Schwartz’s Godspell this summer - a fun, uplifting musical that’s appropriate for all ages,” said Shane Peterman, Producing Artistic Director. “WaterTower Theatre strives to continue to serve our mission of building community and Godspell fits nicely within that scope.”

Due to the limited-run performance schedule, subscribers will be reseated for a new performance night at no additional cost. The WaterTower Theatre box office staff will be contacting subscribers shortly.

Single tickets to Godspell are $38 for adults and $33 for seniors, and will go on sale Tuesday, April 9. Tickets will be available online at www.watertowertheatre.org/tickets.aspx, by phone at 972-450-6232, or by visiting the Box Office at the Addison Theatre Centre, 15650 Addison Road, Addison, Texas 75001.
