Seeking Development Manager

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

WaterTower Theatre, a non-profit, professional theatre company located in Addison, Texas that serves all of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, seeks a dynamic, personable, fundraising professional to lead the development campaigns of an established, vital, mission-based theater in North Texas. We are looking to expand and diversify our funding base and, in order to achieve this goal, we are seeking a strong development leader to provide creative and energetic direction to our fundraising program. This is a part time position.


POSITION OVERVIEW

The Development Manager will create strategies for all fund-raising efforts of WaterTower Theater including board, individual, corporate, foundation, government, and special events for a total annual giving of $1 million. The position reports directly to the Producing Artistic Director and works closely with the Board of Director and Gala and Development Committees to fulfill fundraising goals consistent with the organization’s mission, vision, and artistry. With a strong emphasis on enhancing WaterTower Theatre's critical Individual and Corporate giving programs, the Development Manager will work collaboratively with the Producing Artistic Director on all aspects of development and collaborates cross-departmentally to take a holistic approach to patron loyalty and engagement and to promote an organization-wide focus on development.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Board Campaign

  • Devises strategies and communications, conducts follow-up, and maintains tracking systems in Spectrix Software.
  • Motivates board fundraising, provides stewardship.


Individual Campaign

  • Develops, implements, and expands an individual giving campaign at all levels of giving.
  • Creates strategies with executive staff to solicit high-end leadership gifts. Networks throughout the community.
  • Oversees gift processing in Spectrix and ongoing correspondence.


Corporate Campaign

  • Develops and implements a corporate giving strategy to expand corporate support and to identify potential Board members.
  • Oversees renewals and new corporate proposals for corporate sponsorship and corporate foundation giving.
  • Sets prospect meetings, oversees corporate sponsorship/grant requests, tracks corporate giving, develops sponsorship packages, and oversees the fulfillment of benefits and follow-up.
  • Seeks in-kind gifts and services.

Special Events

  • Oversees the planning and execution of all special events, including the annual Opening Night parties, Gala, pre and post-show parties, cultivation events, and more.
  • Develops, manages, and adheres to expense budgets for the department. Generates monthly and quarterly reports for the Producing Artistic Director about the fundraising budget.
  • Sets up, as required, donor prospect meetings with the Producing Artistic Director.
  • Conducts donor research and prospecting.
  • Attends meetings of Department Heads/Staff and committee meetings as scheduled.

THE POSITION REQUIRES

  • Strategic fundraising or Sales experience
  • Strong writing, communication, and budgeting skills
  • A passion for theater
  • A collaborative style management style
  • The ability to manage a myriad of projects simultaneously
