Theatre Free For All

What in the world is Theatre Free for All?

Theatre Free for All is a FREE drop-in theatre program for kids aged 8-18 who have disabilities or special needs, AND for their typically developing peers. It offers an opportunity to experience theatre, meet other kids interested in theatre, and interact with staff ahead of our full production in the fall with The Penguin Project.

Do I have to drop my kid off?

No, you do NOT have to leave your child if you're not comfortable! You can stay in the room and participate, watch from the sidelines, relax in our nearby parent’s area, or leave for some quiet time. The program is free and accommodating to all.

My child tires easily and/or we’re very busy! What’s the time commitment?

Our sessions are intentionally short to accommodate those who get overwhelmed easily and to suit the schedules of busy kids with various developmental styles. Each class in the spring is self-contained, requiring no ongoing commitment, though an RSVP is preferred.

Who leads the sessions?

Our program director is Ashley Puckett Gonzales, who boasts over 25 years of experience teaching acting and voice in DFW and NYC, and is also a parent to a child with ASD. Ashley, along with other theatre professionals from DFW and NYC, will be present at each class, sharing their passion for theatre with the kids.
